A season of Spaghetti Westerns introduced
by Alex Cox.
Fresh from launching as the most
successful digital TV channel ever, ITV4 will be the home of classics
movies kicking off with a series of Sunday night Spaghetti Westerns
including the classic 'Django' and 'My Name Is Nobody'.
Each of the films will be accompanied
by a specially shot introduction written and presented by Alex
Cox.
Alex Cox knows his film. Filmed on location
at the famous 'Texas Hollywood Studio' in the Tabernas desert
where many of the films were originally shot Alex provides a contextualisation
of each of the films in the series including classics such as
'A Bullet for the General', 'Keoma' and 'Texas Adios' .
The series uses the filmic techniques
of the original productions, arresting graphics in the style of
the opening titles and an artful music score by Ennio Morricone
intercut with carefully chosen clips that will illustrate and
illuminate the films on show, it's place in the cannon and it's
contribution to the genre.
The series starts on Sunday
November 6th the introductions are at 11pm with the films
following straight after at 11.05 The full season is;
6th November - Django

20th November - Vengeance (1968)
27th November - My Name Is Nobody (1973)
4th December - They Call Me Trinity (1971)
11th December - Texas Adios (1966)
18th December - A Bullet For the General (1967)
25th December - The Big Showdown (1972)
6th January 2006 - Keoma (1976)
