Episode 3:
All Eyez On Me – is Tupac Shakur alive?
Tupac Shakur was one of west-coast America’s most successful
rap artists. But the violent life depicted in his lyrics
caught up with him in September 1996 as he was shot to death in
the streets of Las Vegas. The well-documented gun culture
had wasted another life … apparently! As facts surrounding
his death were questioned and hidden messages appeared within
his posthumous releases many believed that Tupac was not really
dead and had, in fact, faked his own death. Sean investigates
what has become the story of ‘Black Elvis’.
Interviewees include hip-hop historian Ife Oshun, rap artists
Ty and MC Intensity plus comedienne and Tupac fan, Gina Yashere
Episode 4:
Fun Fun Fun - Beach Boys and Charles Manson
The Manson murders of Sharon Tate and four others in August, 1969,
shocked America out of the free-thinking ideals of the 60’s
and into the hedonistic 70’s. But when stories emerged
that the incident was a case of mistaken identity, a rock ‘n’
roll myth emerged. We investigate the rumour that Manson
was infact chasing record producer Terry Melcher the night of
the murders, in anger at a dropped recording contract. The
story uncovers the links between Melcher, Manson and Beach Boy,
Dennis Wilson. Presented by Sean Rowley with commentary
from Dennis’ friend, Ed Roach, Beach Boys engineer, Steve
Desper, Rolling Stone journalist (& resident of Manson’s
ranch) David Dalton, Beach Boys former PR, Keith Altham, and Dennis’
biographer, Adam Webb. |
