   
Spiderman On Channel 5 TV
The Spiderman Story seized the moment with a compelling narrative encompassing 40 years of Spider-man action and heroism across every level of pop culture including comic books, newspapers, radio, computer games, three decades of cutting edge television animation and ultimately his latest feature length incarnation. The film featured interviews with the stars of the movie; Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe.
The film told the story of Spider-man the icon while building a behind the scenes picture of the making of a box office smash, and culminating in the launch of the film in the USA prior to it's launch in the UK. Along the way we met Spider-man's creator Stan Lee, Marvel Executive Producer and CEO Avi Arad and comic book editor Axel Alonso. In addition we met some of the artists that have contributed to the phenomenal body of comic book art and animation, along with comic book experts Bradford Wright, Ron Goulart, and Spider-man super-fans including Stewart Lee, Lauren Laverne, Mark Simpson and Gina Yashere.
Also along the way we have some fun at the expense of the superhero by examining up close some of the key tenets of Spider-man lore and its underlying morality: For example, how feasible is it that radioactivity could transpose Spider powers to a mere mortal, transferring superhuman powers to them?
The documentary included an outstanding range of archive material to illustrate the
stories and career of Spiderman.
