Punks old and ancient look back to that most significant of movements in modern music. Even if ex-Pistol John Lydon says it "had nothing to do with music", it was the time when the music of the cash register was well and truly shaken up. Today and tomorrow Play UK examines all aspects of this "revolution of the mind" from its roots in, among others Bowie, Bolan, Slade, the Doors, Iggy Pop and pub rock; plus the fanzines, the politics and the proliferation of DIY music.
